I think the zone should have their own twitter account. I think this because you can put your twitter username on to your profile and that feature has been used by over 100 members which proves if the zone does get a twitter account, it should gain over 100 followers. Only admins should be allowed to know the password. It should be protected so that only zone members who have included their twitter username in their profile can follow this account. The username on the list of new requests to follow has to match the username in their profile for the request to be accepted. Otherwise, the follower request should be declined. This way, spammers can't follow this account. Tweets could be site announcements, notifications if the site is encountering problems, useful tips for using the site and other things relating to the zone.
i like it, just 1 thing... i don't think the zone has enough stuff to keep updating with
Yeah, I think the Time Keeper is right. It is a good idea, but I don't know as we'd have enough to keep the thing updated very frequently. If the day comes that we would, though, I'd definitely consider this.
Nor do I see any reason to make the Twitter private, if we did one.
Agreed. It's not like the Zone has secrets. Smile.
yeah, anything can find the zone, so anyone should be able to find the twitter page, and if they like what they see, join
I don't think I should create the account though as I'm not an admin, it should be the admins who update it.
It'll basically never get updated, nothing new really ever happens around here.
i like it, just one thing though. if this was to happen, most people don't use their zone name as their twitter name. like me, for example, i don't use my zone name as my twitter name, but i do let it be known that i have twitter, i'd just prefer to not have every creep try and follow me, even though my tweets are locked, and i don't feel comfortable enough to post my twitter name up for all to see either. my point is, that you probablly wouldn't be able to tell who is or isn't a zoner, so it'd just have to be like someone else said, open to anyone.
Personally I don't see the need for something such as this, I mean, if the website is down, it's down, and shit happens. If it's fixed, it's fixed, and, shit happens again!
If there's something happening on the zone that's worth updating, that's what the newsfile is there fore ...
